DARRA ADAM KHEL, April 16: An official of the Khasadaar Force was shot dead and two others were seriously injured by masked motorcyclists near a Khasadaar post on Kohat-Peshawar road here on Monday evening.

Subedar Major Iran Gul along with other Khasadaars was on a routine patrolling on Peshawar-Kohat road when two motorcyclists opened fire on the Khasadaar party and killed Iran Gul on the spot.

Two Khasadaars, whose names could not be known, were seriously injured and were taken to the civil hospital in Zarghun Khel.

Militants had issued warnings to Subedar Major Iran Gul, Political Tehsildar Ghafoor Shah, Subedar Raees Khan and Subedar Samin 10 days ago. They warned the Khasadaar officials to stop taking action against them and not monitor their activities. Militants had given them April 10 as deadline and warned them of dreadful consequences if they did not stop action against militants.

The District Coordination Officer of Kohat had been informed about the threat by the Khasadaar officials but no serious action had been taken by the authorities.

The local elders and journalists had also been threatened for reporting about the activities of militants in Darra sometime back.
