KARACHI, April 19: Execution of projects and administrative affairs of the Sindh Environment Protection Agency are being affected because seven key posts in the agency have been lying vacant for about a year while five of its senior officials have been on leave during the last six months.
About three months back, the Sindh Environment Department had sent a summary to the chief secretary with regard to the vacant posts and the problems being faced in executing the projects and inefficiency of the available staff.
“The department had proposed ad hoc hiring but the idea was rejected. Sepa was told to fill up the vacant administrative posts through the Sindh Public Service Commission,” sources told PPI.
“It will take one and a half year to complete the procedure of hiring through the SPSC,” the sources added.—PPI
