Agro-based units in Sindh soon: Arbab


MIRPURKHAS, April 25: Chief Minister Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim said on Wednesday that agro-based industries would be set up in the province in collaboration with private sector under a new project.

He said while chairing a meeting at the Circuit House that the government would encourage small industries since they greatly helped generate employment opportunities.

Mr Rahim said that large-scale uplift programmes were carried out in the district during the tenure of present government, which included construction of a medical college, mega projects of water supply and sewerage system and Thar Cadet College near Naukot.

He said that the government would set up cattle colonies in all the districts of the province to bring a revolution in livestock sector.

He said that a large public meeting would be held in Naukot soon and added that another large gathering was being organised at the connecting point of Mirpurkhas and Tharparkar on May 5.

PML office-bearers and public representatives from Sanghar, Umerkot, Tando Allahyar and Mirpurkhas also attended the meeting.

The chief minister was accompanied by Revenue Minister Irfan Gul Magsi, Advisor to Chief Minister Kishan Chand Parwani, Dost Muhammad Memon, MNA Arbab Zakaullah, MPA Arbab Abdullah, District Nazim Tharparkar Arbab Anwar, Khair Mohammad Bhargri, Asad Junejo and Saeed Qureshi.—PPI
