JHELUM, April 25: The Jhelum police have registered a case against two young men on the charge of raping two girls, who have now taken refuge in the Lal Masjid.

The district police officer (DPO) of Jhelum, Dr Suleman Sultan Rana, in compliance with the government’s assurance to the Lal Masjid clergy visited the mosque on Wednesday and collected the application from the allegedly aggrieved family.

In the application, Mohammad Aslam of Jhelum has alleged that Azhar Iqbal and Mohammad Imran, residents of Mujahidabad area of the city, had raped his daughters. He alleged that one of the girls had become pregnant.

The civil lines police in Jhelum after receiving the application registered the case under sections 376/1-2 and 493-A PPC.
