Ministries get protective bird flu kits

ISLAMABAD, May 1: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) here on Tuesday handed over personal protective equipment along with decontamination and laboratory specimen collection kits to the agriculture and health ministries to help the country cope with bird flu.

The gear will limit the risk of animal-to-animal and animal-to-human infection during outbreak response activities.

The USAID mission director to Pakistan, Jonathan Addleton, handed over the equipment to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and National Institute of Health, Islamabad.
