KARACHI, May 12: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has given a call for observing a countrywide day of mourning on Sunday in memory of the people who lost their lives in acts of violence in Karachi.

“We will observe Sunday as a day of mourning and Quraan Khawani and Fateha Khawani will be held for victims of the firing on MQM’s peaceful rallies,” said coordination committee deputy convenor Dr Farooq Sattar.

“We are in touch with the families of our martyrs and if they want, a collective Namaz-i-Janaza will be offered in the Jinnah Ground in Azizabad,” he added.—Staff Reporter
