NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 16: Villagers scuffled with police to get their relative freed and injured a sub-inspector in the Aleem Burdi village near Moro when they tried to arrest a man wanted in a case on Wednesday.

Sub-inspector Noor Mohammad Mari posted at Jam Datar police station, said that when he, along with a police party, arrested Qabool Bugti who was wanted in a case registered under sections 342 and 365-B of Women Protection Act, he was attacked with clubs by his relatives.

The villagers got Qabool Bugti released and the police party had to return with their injured colleague.

Moro police have lodged an FIR on the complaint of sub-inspector Noor Mohammad Mari under sections 324 and 353 PPC against Qabool Bugti, Ghulam Abbas, Jalal, Qalandar Bux, Manthar Bugti and nine others.

PROTEST: Dozens of people belonging to Ward-1 of Darya Khan Mari town staged a demonstration against SSGC authorities on Wednesday in protest against leaving out their area in a survey for provision of gas.

The protesters, Ali Nawaz Mari, Abdul Majeed Mari, Shahmir Khan Magsi, Khadim Hussain Khaskheli and Sain Bux Magsi complained that the SSGC carried out a survey of the entire Darya Khan Mari town for provision of gas except Ward-1.

They said that when they met with executive engineer of SSGC he referred their case to the construction department of the company and when they met with the officials of construction department they advised them to write to general manager.

The protesters told the journalists that they had sent their application signed by all the heads of over 35 houses of the ward to the zonal manager of SSGC Naushahro Feroze.

ACCIDENT: One Mohammad Hussain Machhi, a labourer, was killed in Moro on Tuesday evening after getting hit by a motorcyclist on the Bandhi Road.

Police lodged an FIR against the unidentified accused.
