SHIKARPUR, May 19: Four people, including a woman, were killed and four others injured in separate incidents in Garhi Yasin and Khanpur talukas late on Friday night. Noor Brohi and Mir Mairee were killed while Turbat Khatoon, Zubair Brohi and Lashkar Brohi sustained bullet injuries when they were ambushed by an armed group of Marfanis on the Mairee village link road. The victims were returning to Qadir Bux Brohi village on their donkey cart from Jado Kalhoro village after getting medicines for Noor Brohi’s wife from a private hospital. The motive is said to be an ongoing tribal dispute.

On the complaint of Naz Bibi, aunt of the deceased Noor Brohi, the Garhi Yasin police registered a case against 13 people belonging to the Marfani tribe, including Ghulam, Yousuf, Meero, Mehboob, Gulab Marfani and others.

In another incident in the jurisdiction of Kot Shahoo police station, Mohammad Paryal Jatoi gunned down his daughter and Mohammad Shaban Brohi with the help of accomplices.

The murderer suspected that the couple had illicit relations. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
