QUETTA, May 26: Police have arrested two suspected members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Khuzdar and seized arms and ammunition. Deputy Inspector-General Police Kalat Ghulam Shabir Sheikh said at a press conference on Saturday that police raided a house on the outskirts of Khuzdar after receiving a tip-off about the presence of the suspects there.

“They entered Khuzdar for conducting subversion activities,” Mr Sheikh claimed and added that hand-grenades, AK-47 rifles, ammunition, 20 cell-phone SIMS and a satellite phone were recovered from their possession.

The police official said the arrested men were wanted for their alleged involvement in many cases of subversion activities.

The suspects were produced before a district sessions judge who remanded them to police for further investigation.
