QUETTA, June 20: Women and children of Marri tribe on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside the Quetta Press Club in protest against alleged arrest of Qadir Marri and Khan Mohammad Marri by intelligence agencies in Karachi.

They were chanting slogans against the government and intelligence agencies.

Noor Bibi, who led the protesters, gave a written statement to newsmen.

The statement asked the government to release the arrested people or produce them before a court of law.

On April 16, personnel of Rangers, police, MI and ISI arrested the aged brothers, Qadir Marri 80 and Mohammad Marri, 72, from their Malir residence in Karachi, said the statement, adding that police later had expressed ignorance about their arrest.

Noor Bibi said that the two brothers had no political affiliation. Their only fault was that they were Baloch and belonged to the Marri tribe, she added.

She asked international human right agencies to take notice of injustices to Baloch people.
