WANA/TANK, Sept 10: Supporters of Baitullah Mehsud clashed with security froces in the Makin area of South Waziristan on Monday soon after four militants were killed in the area.Sources said an aide to Baitullah was among those killed, while seven other people, including a woman and a child, were wounded. A heavy exchange of fire continued in the area north of Wana till late evening.A military convoy was reported to be heading from the mountainous Shawal area to Makin when two cars approached it despite warnings. The troops opened fire on the cars, killing the four people and wounding seven others.

Local people said Baitullah’s commander in Makin area, Sanaullah, was among those killed.

Our correspondent in Miramshah adds: A paramilitary camp in Razmak area of North Waziristan came under rocket attack on Sunday evening, wounding four soldiers.
