Recovery of kidnapped doctor sought

By Abdul Salam

BANNU, Sept 11: Associations representing doctors and paramedics have expressed serious concern over the kidnapping of a doctor and have sought his early recovery.

A meeting attended by members of the two associations was held at the district headquarters hospital on Tuesday. The doctors vowed to make every effort for the recovery of their kidnapped colleague — Dr Abdur Rahim of the District Development Health Centre, Bannu.

They said that even though doctors and paramedics worked round-the-clock they faced a lot of security problems.

Health workers wore black armbands to register their protest. They said they would stop examining patients in their private clinics from Wednesday if Dr Rahim was not recovered by then.

They formulated a committee to work out a strategy for the recovery of the kidnapped doctor.
