KARACHI, Nov 8: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will consult a foreign medical expert to ascertain when paceman Mohammad Asif could recover from injury to play for the country.
Asif pulled out of the ongoing one-day series in India at the 11th hour due to a nagging elbow injury and the PCB is unclear whether he will recover in time to join the team for the three-Test series starting from Nov 22.
“Asif has been undergoing a rehabilitation process recommended by the team trainer. But we will be sending him to consult a foreign expert,” Dr Nasim Ashraf, Chairman PCB, told a news conference on Thursday. —Reuters
