LAHORE, Nov 25: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) overpowered a spirited Pakistan Navy 1-0, while Karachi Port Trust (KPT) thrashed Punjab Medical College (PMC) 5-1 in Premier Football league on Sunday.
Although Navy tried hard, they failed to thwart 32nd minute goal by Shahid Ahmed of KRL.
KPT led 2-0 at interval with stopper and former Pakistan vice-captain Naseer Ahmed and striker Zafar Majeed firing ball into the cage in the 15th and 39th minutes.
KPT added three more with Zafar striking his second in the 51st minute. KPT winger Abdul Rahman made it 4-0 three minutes later, while Mohammad Zahid completed the tally in the 67th minute.
PMC scored the consolation goal through Mohammad Imran in the 68th minute.KPT managed 18 points from their eight matches while PMC had scored one from their six games.
Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) defeated Panther FC 1-0 in Group-A.
Ziaullah scored the match winner for POF in the 68th minute to give his side the third win in the event.
In Group B, Steel Mills edged past PWD 1-0.
Both sides were defensive from the first whistle and the match saw the only strike through Akmal in the 64th minute. While it was Steel Mills’ first win after a poor display in Quetta earlier, it ended PWD unbeaten record as they had seven points from four matches.
