GUJRAT, Nov 26: Candidates of political parties and independents, including arch rivals Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar — submitted their nomination papers for constituencies on Monday.

Mr Hussain filed his nomination papers for NA-105. He arrived with full protocol as the district police chief Mahmoodul Hassan Qureshi escorted Mr Hussain’s motorcade from his residence to the sessions court.

Mr Mukhtar of the PPP also filed his papers on two seats – NA-105 and PP-111. He arrived at the court with a large number of party workers and supporters. Talking to reporters, Mr Mukhtar said that he would not file any objection against Mr Hussain despite of having proves of the corruption and writing-off loans by the Chaudharys as he wanted to face all negative tactics of his opponents.

Former district bar association president Asghar Passowal submitted his nomination papers for NA-105 as covering candidate of Mr Mukhtar. Chaudhry Nisar Ahmed of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) filed his nomination papers for NA-105.

Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain of the PML, Nawabzada Ghazanfar Ali Gull of the PPP and Hafiz Zubair Ahmed of MMA filed their nomination papers for NA 104. Qamar Zaman Kaira of the PPP, Syed Noorul Hassan Shah of the PML and Abdul Shakoor of the MMA filed the papers for NA-106. Malik Jamil Awan of the PML-Nawaz, Rehman Naseer Marala of PML, Raja Masood Ahmed of the PPP and independent candidate Chaudhry Mubashar Hussain filed their papers for NA-107. Nawabzada Muzaffar Ali of the PPP, Khalid Asghar Ghural of the PML, Nawabzada Tahirul Mulk, Shabeer Gondal of the PML-N and Ayub Khan of the MMA filed their papers for PP-108. Moin Nawaz of the PPP and Abdullah Yousaf of the PML filed their nomination Papers for PP-109. Nasir Samma (PPP) filed his papers for PP-110; Tanveer Ashraf Kaira (PPP), Liaqat Bhadar (PML) and Dr Syed Ehsanullah Shah (MMA) submitted their nomination papers for PP-112. Mian Tariq Mahmood (PML), Jaafar Iqbal of the (PML-N), Chaudhry Shamsher (PPP) and Chaudhry Basheer Bhago (MMA) filed their papers for PP-113. Chaudhry Mohammad Arshad of (PML), Raja Naeem Nawaz (PML-N) and others filed their papers for PP-114.
