LARKANA, Dec 4: Mir Qadir Bakhsh Brohi, who is cover candidate for Aziz Jatoi of Pakistan People’s Party for PS-41, has refused to withdraw his nomination papers in favour of Jatoi.

Mr Brohi told Dawn on Tuesday that the party, which had already nominated Jatoi its candidate for the provincial seat, was pressuring him to take back his papers.

He said that he had been with PPP since 1970 and during that period he had twice been made cover candidate and each time he bowed to party decision. He appealed to party high command to consider giving him ticket as he wielded influence in the area and had sizable pockets of voters in the constituency.

He believed he would not only give tough time to the PML candidate but was also in a strong position sweep the polls.

ROBBERY: Three armed motorcyclists deprived Dileep Kumar, owner of a medical store, of Rs0.5 million at gunpoint near district nazim office in Naudero on Tuesday after he withdrew the amount from a bank.

The robbers fired on Dileep when he put up resistance and escaped leaving him injured. He was admitted to Chandka Medical College Hospital.

The robbers chased Dileep after he boarded an auto rickshaw after withdrawing the amount from the main branch of the National Bank of Pakistan.

They forced the rickshaw to stop near nazim office and robbed him.
