KARACHI, Dec 7: The Karachi Bar Association on Friday released the final list of candidates contesting the KBA election-2008 scheduled to be held on Dec 15. The election, being held a week ahead of its routine schedule due to Eidul Azha holidays, will be conducted under the supervision of the former advocate-general, Sindh, Anwar Mansoor Khan.

Iftakhar Javaid Qazi, Mahmoodul Hassan, and Mohammad Aqil will contest the polls for the office of president, while Abdul Hameed Yusfi, Abdul Wahab Balouch and Mushtaq Ahmad Jahangiri will be contesting for the post of vice-president.

Abdul Sattar, Hakim Ali Shaikh, Naeem Qureshi and Naheed Afzal Khan are contesting for the office of general secretary, while Mohammad Ashfaq Satti, Muzaffar Ahmed Iqbal Sufi and Shah Faisal for the post of joint secretary.

Shazia Manzoor Mughal and Syed Raeesul Buhgees for contesting for the post of treasurer, while Abbas Haider and Syed Fateh Ali Shah for the post of librarian.

Thirty candidates are in the field for the fifteen-member managing committee. They are Abdul Abid, Abdul Razzaq, Abdul Waheed Balouch, Akbar Khan, Azra Iqbal, Ghulam Mujtaba Phull, Kamran Shehzad Siddiqui, Mehtab Khan, Mohammad Aslam, Mohammad Muneer Akhtar, Mohammad Rafiq, Mohammad Saleem Khan, Mohammad Sagheer Khan, Mohammad Shahzad Arshad, Nafees Ahmed, Naila Tabbassum, Nasir Mahmood Chaudhary, Raffat Naseem Naz, Rahila Khanum, Riaz Afandi, Sakina Khatoon, Sartaj Ahmed Malgani, Shafiqur Rehman, Shahab Khan, Shamisu Zaman, Shazia Latif, Shujauddin, Syed Ali Ahmed Shah, Uzma Rafique and Zardad Khan.
