HYDERABAD, Dec 7: Activists of the Jeay Sindh National Party (JSNP) have threatened to launch a protest movement if demolition of houses in the Gharib Nawaz and Shah Latif colonies was not stopped by district administration.

The affected people should have been provided alternate accommodation if an overhead bridge was required to be constructed in that area, they said.

Party Chairman Agha Shamshad Mughal and Ismail Chhachhar addressing a news conference at the press club here on Friday, alleged that on second of this month about 10 houses were demolished and a warning was issued to 20 others to voluntarily vacate their houses or meet the same fate.

They claimed that a day earlier a group of people visited the colonies seeking votes and upon residents’ reply to vote as per their conscience, 10 houses were bulldozed the following day.

The JSNP leaders said particular group of people targeted houses during demolition

They said those affected had been living for the last 50 to 60 years but without issuing them any notices, their houses were being bulldozed.
