PESHAWAR, Dec 7: NWFP Chief Minister Shamsul Mulk has said an institute will be established for special children where all facilities, including provision of free education, will be made available.

He said schools for special children would be established in every district of the province in the private sector for which seed money would be provided by the government. He announced a grant of Rs5 million for the purpose.

The chief minister was speaking at a function held for special children of the Azam Khan Special Education Centre, Charsadda, at the Frontier House here on Friday. Minister for Finance Azam Khan, former chief secretary Mr Abdullah, secretaries for social welfare and finance departments and the director of the social welfare department were among the participants.

Mr Mulk said physically handicapped and mentally retarded people deserved support and attention.—PPI
