BANGALORE, Dec 7: Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson has expressed hope that his team will take advantage of the conditions here to level the series against India in the third and final Test on Saturday.

Talking to a group of Pakistani journalists on the sidelines of a practice session, the former Australian Test fast bowler said that since the Indians are under pressure for the forthcoming tour of Australia, it has given Pakistan a real chance of turning the tables on the home team.

“It is a good opportunity for us to get this one [Test] into our bag. India are certainly focussing on the Australian tour and this may benefit us if we play to our potential,” Lawson, who celebrated his 50th birthday on Friday, added. “The best thing about the coming Test is that we don’t have to worry about injuries like in Kolkata where we were struggling to find eleven fit players. It is the Indians’ turn to worry about them.”

Describing his tenure as the national coach of Pakistan, Lawson said: “It’s a privilege to be coaching one of the best and most talented sides in the world. As for my birthday, I don’t like being reminded that I am now 50.”
