Pakistan recalls press officers

By Masood Haider

NEW YORK, Dec 8: Pakistan has summoned most of its information press officers based in major capitals of the world, in particular western nations, in order to formulate a viable strategy to dispel the negative image of the country in the wake of the recent events in the country.

The decision follows a mission which was sent to the United States last week. Led by Dr Nasim Ashraf, the special envoys sent to do some damage control in New York and Washington came to know that despite support of the Bush administration, scepticism over Pakistan’s role as the front-line state in the fight against terror has become worse.
