ISLAMABAD, Dec 14: Women voters in four districts of Balochistan and one district in Sindh outnumber men voters, according to figures on the Election Commission website. The number of registered voters in Kech district of Balochistan is 117,736 with 99,324 men voters. In Kharan district, the number of women voters is 33,825 and of men 31,312. In the newly-created Washuk district, the number of registered women voters is 32,624 against 29,938 men. In Ziarat, there are 35,357 women voters against 31,453 men.
There are some districts in Balochistan where the number of registered women voters is almost equal to the number of men.
In Jhal Magsi, there is a difference of only 12 votes between men and women electors. There are 36,611 registered men voters and 36,599 women voters. In Pishin, there are 116,554 men voters and 114,783 women. The lowest number of voters in the province is in Sehrani district, 16,055 men and 9,768 women.
The total number of registered voters in Balochistan’s 29 districts is 4.3 million, 2.3 million are men and 1.96 million women. Quetta has the largest number of registered voters (636,779), followed by Jaffarabad (391,601).
The biggest gap between men and women voters is in North Waziristan Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas where only 18,513 women voters have been enrolled against 107,968 men voters. In Mehmand Agency, the number of women voters is 25,630 while that of men voters is 107,968. The maximum number of men as well as women voters has been enrolled in Bajour Agency where the number of men and women voters is 161,784 and 93,355, respectively. The number of enrolled voters in seven agencies of Fata is over 1.27 million.
In Sindh, the total number of registered voters in 27 districts is over 19.5 million. Nauhero Feroze is the only district in the province with more registered women voters than the men voters. The number of women voters in the district is 406,707 while that of men is 373,917. The maximum number of both men and women is in Karachi East which is 937,749 and 7752,301, respectively. In Karachi Central, the number of men voters is 803,229 while there are 674,487 women voters.
The number of men voters in Karachi West is 791,862 against 489,680 women electors. In Karachi South, there are 722,460 and 534,688 men and women voters, respectively.
The lowest number of women voters in Sindh has been registered in Kambar Shahdadkot where there are 114,923 women and 197,451 men voters. The minimum number of men votes however is in Tando Alahyar where 146,154 men and 117,324 women voters have been registered.
In Punjab province, the total number of voters in 35 districts is over 44 million.
Over 3.6 million of them have been registered in the provincial capital Lahore, over 2.9 million in Faisalabad, over 2.4 million each in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala and over 2.2 million in Multan.
The lowest number of both male and female registered voters in the Punjab is in Hafizabad. The number of male voters in Hafizabad is 228,873 with 173,909 women voters.
The total number of registered voters in 24 districts of the North-West Frontier Province is 10.79 million with 1.25 million of them registered in Peshawar.
The maximum number of voters after the provincial capital have been registered in Mansehra (861,938), followed by Swat (812,254). The lowest of registered women voters in the NWFP is in Battagram with 54,504 women and 96,903 men.
The lowest number of male voters is in Tank where 84,642 men and 57,350 women voters have been enrolled.
In the Federal Capital, there are 258,453 men and 219,001 women voters.
