Amendments assailed

ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chairman Raja Zafar-ul-Haq on Saturday criticised the government for making constitutional amendments through a presidential order, saying only parliament had the authority to amend the Constitution.

Reacting to the lifting of emergency, the PML-N chairman said that the amendments were made in a bid to provide legal cover to steps taken by the president since Nov 3.

“The PML-N would scrap these illegal amendments when it comes to power,” he added.
