Swabi: Tough contest in the offing

SWABI, Dec 16: Arch-rivals will be contesting the Jan 8 elections for the district’s two national and six provincial assembly seats.

The contestants in the run for NA-12, Swabi-1, are JUI-F’s Mukhtiar Ahmed, PPP-P’s Gauhar Ali, ANP’s Asfandyar Wali Khan, PML-N’s Iftikhar Ahmad and Swabi Jamhoori Ittehad’s Usman Khan Tarakai.

A tough fight for the NA-13, Swabi-I, is expected between PPP-S’s Fazal Wadood Khan, PPP-P’s Mohammad Naeem, JUI-F’s Attaul Haq Darvaish, PML-N’s Liaqat Ahmad Khan and ANP’s Pervez Khan.

The candidates for PF-31, Swabi-I, are: PML-N’s Dildar Khan, Dr Muhammad Saleen of the Swabi Qaumi Mahaz, PPP-P’s Fida Hussian, independent candidate Gul Zamin Khan, PPP-S’s Masood Jabar and ANP’s Mohammad Zarshad Khan.

The main contestants for the PF-32, Swabi-II, are ANP’s Amir Rehman, PPP-P’s Abid Hussian, JUI-F’s Khalid Akbar, PML-N’s Mohammad Kamal and Javid Iqbal Tarakai of the Swabi Jamhoori Ittehad.

The candidates for PF-33, Swabi-III, are Awal Sher Khan, Swabi Qaumi Mahaz, Ali Khan, PPPP, Mukhtiar Khan, ANP, Sahid Zada, JUI-F, Rab Nawaz Khan, PML-N and Mohammad Sher, PML-Q.

Abdul Karim of the PPP-S, Abdul Majid Khan, JUI-F, Amjid Ali, ANP, Sardar Ali, independent and Asad Zaman, independent, are candidates for the PF-34, Swabi-IV .

For PF-35, Swabi-V, Mohammad Ali Ahmad, PPP-P, Maulana Khalil Ahmad, JUI-H, Iftikhar Hussian, PPP-S, Sajjad Ahmad, PML-Q, Sikandar Irfan, ANP, Maulana Fazal Ali, JUI-F and Tariq Zaman of the PML-N are the candidates. Sarfaraz Khan Jadoon, ANP, Sher Ali, PML-Q, Amir Saeed, independent, Mohammad Israr, PML-N and Fazal Baqi of JUI-F are candidates for PF-36, Swabi-VI.
