Lawyer held with heroin at airport

LAHORE, Dec 17: The Punjab Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) claimed on Monday to have arrested a lawyer with heroin worth millions of rupees at Allama Iqbal International Airport.

According to a press release, Advocate Ayyaz Safdar of Sheikhupura was smuggling heroin concealed in a laptop to Malaysia when ANF officials searched his luggage and seized the drug. He was wearing the traditional lawyers’ uniform.

According to the initial investigation, Safdar has links with African and Pakistani gangs. He practices law in a Lahore session court and his father is also a lawyer.
