KARACHI, Dec 18: Four ships to load and offload containers, chemicals and coal were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying furnace oil and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Seven ships, Maersk Davao, Nedlloyd Asia, Bernice, Sophia, Vema Cape, Eastern Amenity and Lance Lot, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, furnace oil, chemicals and coal.

A cargo volume of 89,166 tons comprising 70,006 tons of import and 19,160 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Seattle Trader, Sinar Agra and Bernice left the port while Maersk Davao and Nedlloyd Asia were due to depart.
