SHANGHAI, Dec 25: Huaneng Power International Inc said on Tuesday it would issue 60 billion yuan ($8.2 billion) of corporate bonds this week.

Huaneng, China’s largest independent electricity provider, would issue 1 billion yuan of five-year bonds, 1.7 billion yuan of seven-year bonds and 3.3 billion yuan of 10-year bonds, it said in a statement published in the Shanghai Securities News.

The bonds would respectively bear annual coupons of 5.67, 5.75 and 5.90 per cent, Huaneng said, adding they would be sold to domestic institutional investors on Tuesday and Wednesday and to retail investors only on Tuesday.

The issue is the first batch of a total of 10 billion yuan corporate bonds that Huaneng won regulatory approval this month to sell to improve its debt structure.
