MIRPURKHAS, Dec 25: The Pakistan People’s Party candidates for NA-227 Mirpurkhas-II, PS-66 and PS-67 seats, have called for holding of elections under the supervision of army to curtail rigging and urged the government to fulfil its promise of free, fair and transparent elections in the country.

Mir Munawar Ali Khan Talpur, candidate for NA-227, Mir Haji Hayat Talpur candidate for PS-66, and Mir Mehboob Talpur candidate for PS-67 seat, said this while speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday.

They claimed that the government machinery was busy to get elected PML-Q candidates by massive rigging and were running their election campaign.

They said that the local administration had posted the PML-Q candidates’ favourite polling staff. They said a revenue clerk Dilbar Ramzan posted as Mukhtiarkar of Taluka Hussain Bux Mari was running election campaign of the PML-Q candidates.

They further deplored that the Mirpurkhas Agriculture EDO Ghulamullah Jarwar, Irrigation SDO Akhtar Ali Khaskheli were also openly taking part in election campaign, and said that they had submitted complaints to the authorities in writing but no action has been taken yet.

They alleged that favourites SHOs were being posted in the district Mirpurkhas to swing results in favour of government backed candidates.

SHO Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Incharge investigation department of Tando Jan Mohammad police station, additional I.T incharge had been replaced in this regard.

UC Sofan Shah Nazim Javed Ramzan, UC Mir Khuda Bux Nazim Mukhtiar Jarwar and UC Fazal Bhambhro Nazim Jan Mohammad Chandio were openly running the election campaign for PML-Q. They claimed that the PPP office at Tando Jan Mohammad was attacked and ransacked by workers of the PML-Q on Monday night.

They further accused that polling stations were being changed while a report said that 20,000 to 25,000 ballot papers were being prepared with signatures of presiding officers to carry out rigging plan of administration to support the Quaid League candidates.
