TOBA TEK SINGH, Jan 5: Dozens of medical store owners in the district allegedly sell spurious and expired drugs while some of them sell medicines of animals to humans. This was said at a District Quality Control Board’s meeting on Saturday.

District Coordination Officer Nawazish Ali chaired the meeting. The board decided to send the cases of 25 medical stores to Faisalabad Drug Court for trail. The meeting discussed the cases of 44 medical store owners accused of violations and heard their point of view. It also decided to conduct hearings of 19 other cases.

KIDNAPPED FOR RANSOM: A class one girl was kidnapped for ransom on Saturday from Garden Town. Alisha, daughter of Shaukat Ali, was playing in the street outside her home when unidentified people kidnapped her and later they gave a call to her father demanding a Rs800,000 ransom for her release.

The caller warned her father that if he did not give money or informed police, they would kill the girl. MR Ali reportedly sold his land in Chak 328 JB for Rs30 million. City police registered a case and were after the kidnappers.
