TCP tender for sugar

KARACHI, Jan 8: Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has floated a tender for the purchase of 50,000 tons of refined sugar from local mills.

A TCP official said here on Tuesday that the tender will be opened on January 10, 2007.

The corporation is buying sugar from local mills on the instructions of Economic Coordination Committee for the procurement of 500,000 tonsf sugar from local mills to help out sugar industry which is facing financial crisis.

He said that TCP had earlier floated several tenders for the purchase of sugar of about 250,000 tons from local mills in phases. —APP
