LARKANA, Jan 8: The Pakistan People’s Party will give a final shape to a draft petition on Wednesday, to be submitted to the United Nations urging it to set up a commission to investigate the assassination of Ms Benazir Bhutto.

Party sources told Dawn on Tuesday that PPP leader Farooque H. Naik had handed over a draft of the petition to PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. Meanwhile, PPP candidates for forthcoming elections met Mr Zardari at the Naudero House and apprised him of political situation in their respective constituencies.

PPP delegations from Balochistan, NWFP, Punjab and Sindh continued coming to Larkana to condole the death of Ms Bhutto with Mr Zardari.

Talking to members of these delegations, Mr Zardari said that his party believed that the people’s strength was mightier than gun and that late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto lived longer than his enemies.

“We are here to follow the mission of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Ms Benazir Bhutto who both were firm believers of the federation.”
