BEIJING, Jan 13: The top commander of the US Pacific Fleet arrived in Beijing on Sunday to meet Chinese officials, state media said, in talks that come after a heated row over US naval visits to Hong Kong.

The four-day visit of Timothy Keating, commander-in-chief of the US Pacific Command, includes talks with vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission Guo Boxiong and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, Xinhua news agency said.

Keating will discuss Sino-US military ties and Taiwan, among other issues, the report said.—AFP
