LANDI KOTAL, Jan 16: The Khasadar force on Wednesday foiled an attempt to kidnap a businessman after a brief encounter with the alleged kidnappers.
Officials said that some unidentified abductors picked Banaras Khan at gunpoint from his shop in Landi Kotal bazaar and drove him away in a vehicle towards Karamna.
The Khasadar force chased the kidnappers and intercepted them near Ziyarhai checkpoint on the Zakhakhel road. Sensing danger, the kidnappers opened fire at the Khasadar party. After a brief encounter, the Khasadars recovered Banaras Khan while the kidnappers escaped.
