Pakistan CC clinch KCCA league title

KARACHI, Jan 31: Daniyal Ahsan and Anwar Ali excelled as Pakistan Cricket Club won the KCCA Inter-Club Senior League Cricket Championship overwhelming Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club by 48 runs in the final at the NBP Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Daniyal smashed an enterprising 97 with 12 boundaries and a six while Javed Mansoor made 37 as Pakistan CC posted 233 all out in 48.2 overs.

Daniyal stood firm under pressure, after Pakistan CC lost three quick wickets with Aleem Moosa taking two wickets. Slow left-arm spinner Mohammad Ali caused the main damage with four wickets for 56.

Pakistan junior paceman Anwar Ali took five wickets for 74 to bowl Mohammad Hussain CC out for 185 in 50 overs.

Behram Khan top-scored with 65 with four boundaries and Test batsman Faisal Iqbal struck 37.

Adnan Kaleem collected the winners trophy and Rs50,000 while Mohammad Hussain CC skipper Sajid Ali received the runners-up trophy with Rs25,000.Test fast bowler Mohammad Sami was named the best batsman of the tournament and Tabish Nawab was declared player of the tournament.
