Concern voiced over paper prices

LAHORE, Feb 5: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mohammad Ali Mian has assured the paper merchants that he would take up the issue of rising paper prices with the authorities concerned.

The LCCI chief was talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association headed by its Vice Chairman Mohammad Ajmal.

APPMA President Malik Khalid Javed, Anjuman-i-Tajiran Urdu Bazaar President Khalid Prevail, former APPMA chairman Camilla Butt and LCCI Executive Committee member Khakis Seed Butt were also present during the meeting.

Ali Mian said that as the paper traders were playing a very important role in the promotion of education, their problems should be resolved on a priority basis. The LCCI, while acting upon its open-door policy, was trying to solve the day-to-day issues of the business community, he said.

The APPMA delegation congratulated Mohammad Ali Mian on being elected the LCCI president and expressed the hope that he would leave no stone unturned in resolving the issue of sky-rocketing paper prices.

The delegation also discussed in detail the infrastructure-related problems being faced by the Urdu Bazaar traders.---PPI
