Hafeez not interested in ICL

Published February 6, 2008

LAHORE, Feb 5: Pakistan opener Mohammad Hafeez said that he had no intention of joining the controversial Indian Cricket League (ICL).

Talking to Dawn on Tuesday, Hafeez said though the ICL contacted in the past, he wasn’t interested in playing in the breakaway league since his top priority was to play for the country and that he would like to regain his place in the national team.

However, earlier there were reports of Hafeez and five other players being in contact with the ICL.

But sources said the ICL had approached Imran Nazir on Tuesday after previously overlooking the discarded opener.
