Militant killed near Tank

TANK, Feb 11: A militant was killed in an exchange of fire with army troops here on Monday, reportedly when he was about to throw a hand-grenade at the soldiers.

Army officials said the soldiers were attacked when they challenged a group of militants trying to plant a bomb along the Tank-Wana road near Patar village, about six kilometres south of here.

The officials said two other militants managed to escape, they said.
