40 suspects arrested

QUETTA, Feb 12: Law-enforcement personnel arrested over 40 suspects during a search operation launched in some areas on Tuesday.

The suspects were handed over to the authorities concerned for interrogation, sources said.

Beebarg Baloch, a spokesman for the banned, Baloch Liberation Army, meanwhile, claimed that the security forces had launched massive operation in Siah Geri area of Kahan tehsil of Kohlu district and arresed over 150 people of the Marri tribe.

Calling from an unknown place through satellite phone, he said that helicopters had been used in the attack, adding that there were reports of casualties.

He claimed carrying out attacks on security forces and damaging a tank and killing several soldiers. He also claimed the responsibility of a grenade attack on a police station on the Sariab road area.
