LANDI KOTAL: 13 Afghans deported

LANDI KOTAL, Feb 26: Political authorities on Tuesday deported 13 illegal Afghans to their country at Torkham border check post, officials said.

They said that the Peshawar police had arrested these illegal Afghans during a drive and handed them over to the political administration in the Khyber tribal region from where they were turned over to the Afghan authorities. The police had launched a crackdown against illegal Afghans in Peshawar before elections and arrested scores of people.

The Afghan officials also deported a Pakistani national Hakeem Khan who was arrested on charge of traveling in Afghanistan without traveling documents. —Correspondent
