ISLAMABAD, March 1: Lawyers here on Saturday demanded registration of a criminal case against those responsible for detaining the pre-PCO chief justice of Pakistan and his family since November 3.
At a hunger strike camp at Ayub Chowk, the lawyers said an application would be registered with the Secretariat police in this regard.
The president, interior minister, interior secretary, chief commissioner, deputy commissioner, IGP and SSP of Islamabad are likely to be nominated in the case.
Speaking on the occasion, Athar Minallah, a lawyer, said a petition would be submitted to the court of the district and sessions judge Islamabad on Monday if the police refused to register the case or receive the complaint.
Justice Chaudhry along with his family members, including a special child, has been detained in his official residence at the Judges Colony since November 3.
Meanwhile, two social activists - Mohammad Iqbal Bali and Jehangir Akhter - started a hunger strike in support of the deposed chief justice and demanding the release of his family members.
