LAHORE, March 5: A late four-goal rally helped Charbagh’s Own beat Sakuf by 6-5 1/2 in the Spring Polo Cup here on Wednesday.

The winners earned a 2-1 1/2 lead in the first chukker as Faisal Khokhar and Kasim Ahmad Khan banged home one goal each. Kamran Zaidi struck a goal for the losing side, who had a half goal handicap.

In the second chukker, the losing side were ahead by 3 1/2-2 as Aslam and Kamran Zaidi fired home one goal each.

They had a firm lead of 5 1/2-2 in the beginning of the third chukker as Zakir and Usman Zaka Malik fired home one goal each. But from there on Charbagh’s Own bounced back into the game, scoring four goals in a row to turn the tables on their rivals. Nasir Ahmad Khan scored back-to-back to make it 5 1/2-4 at the end of the third chukker. In the fourth chukker, Kasim hit his second goal and Mian Khurram his solitary for the winners to complete the win.

Meanwhile, three-goal Taimur Ali Malik steered Guard Rice to a 5-2 1/2 win against Technimen. Shahzad Magoon and Mian Shahzad Aziz chipped in with a goal each. Junaid Ahmad and Hussain Iftikhar reduced the margin for the losing side, who had a half-goal handicap.
