MIRPURKHAS, March 10: A police official has alleged that his son has been severely beaten up by the security in-charge of Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills and other officials.

ASI Mir Mohammad Khoso of the Satellite Town police station told journalists that his son Kashif was a clerk at juice section of the mill. On Saturday, Kashif was locked up in a room at the mill by Sher Khan, security in-charge, and other guards, on the suspicion of stealing a mobile phone, he said.

He was beaten up with sticks as a result he was injured and later admitted to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital, the ASI said.

He said that if his son had stolen a cell phone, he should have been handed over to police.
