New envoys to Russia, Oman named

ISLAMABAD, March 13: Khalid Khattak and Sohail Amin have been appointed ambassadors to Russia and Oman respectively.

Currently serving as additional secretary at Foreign Office, Khalid Khattak joined Foreign Service in 1976. He holds a Master’s degree in English literature.

He served at headquarters as section officer and director- general. He held diplomatic assignments in Moscow, Stockholm, Damascus, Almaty and New Delhi.

He also served as ambassador in Brazil.

Mr Khattak also served as member Directing Staff, National Defence College, Islamabad.

Suhail Amin, currently serving as ambassador to Nepal since 2005, joined Foreign Service in 1980. He held various diplomatic assignments abroad, including Baghdad, Bonn, Khartoum, Canberra, and Jakarta.

Mr Amin served at the headquarters as section officer, director and director-general. He holds degrees of BSc, LLB and MIS (UK).—APP
