ISLAMABAD, March 13: A senior official of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), who was kidnapped 16 days ago, was released by the abductors on Thursday after payment of Rs1 million ransom, sources said.

Tauqeer Hassan Nasir, a resident of G-10/4, left his house on February 27 in his car but did not return. Later, his brother received a call in which a person informed him that his brother had been kidnapped for ransom.
