PARACHINAR, March 14: Rockets fired from the Afghan side of the border landed near a security post in the Borki village of Kurram Agency on Friday evening, officials said.

Four rockets were fired from the Paktia province of Afghanistan. Officials said that the rockets did not explode.

This is the second attack from the Afghan side in three days. On Tuesday night, guided missiles fired from across the border hit a compound in North Waziristan, killing four women and two children.

Pakistan lodged a protest with coalition forces against the attack.

Meanwhile, the NWFP chapter of Jamaat-i-Islami has condemned the US attack and the killing of innocent people.

In a statement issued here on Friday, JI provincial chief Sirajul Haq said that despite deployment of thousands of troops in the tribal area, coalition and Afghan forces were violating the territorial jurisdiction of Pakistan.

He said that civilians were being targeted in the tribal region and President Pervez Musharraf was pleasing his foreign masters.

JI provincial chief urged the coming government in Islamabad to pursue foreign policy in keeping with people’s aspirations.
