KARACHI, March 19: The University of Karachi on Wednesday announced the results of MBBS first professional part-A annual examination 2008.
According to results, Afsheen Khan (seat No.80503) of the Liaquat National Medical College clinched first position and Misbah Vaqar Patoli (seat No.80630) of the Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences Trust bagged second position.
The third position was shared by Syeda Abida Ahmed (seat No.80058) of the Karachi Medical and Dental College and Munazza Shabir (seat No.80632) of the Sir Syed College of Medical Science Trust.
A total of 425 candidates appeared in the examination and 274 of them were declared pass. The pass percentage stood at 64.47.
Convocation
The University of Karachi has advised the candidates who have not yet received their degrees to submit registration forms for the annual convocation between March 26 and April 10.
According to a KU notification issued on Wednesday, the forms can be obtained from the convocation camp office, Silver Jubilee Gate No.1, University of Karachi.
The students who have Bachelors (Hon), BS, B.Pharmacy, Masters and M.Pharmacy in 2007 will be awarded degrees at the convocation, to be held soon. The students who have obtained their MS, MD, MPhil, PhD, D.Litt and DSc degrees in 2007-2008 will also be awarded the degrees at the convocation. Medals and merit certificates will be awarded to the position-holders.
Holidays
The University of Karachi will remain closed on March 20 and 21 on account of Eid Miladun Nabi, according to an announcement made on Wednesday by the KU registrar.
SSC admit cards
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi has announced that the admit cards for the SSC annual examinations 2008 (Science and General groups), scheduled for April 15, can be collected from March 26 to 29.
Heads of the recognised secondary schools have been directed to send their representatives with authority letter to collect the admit cards from the Conference Hall, 1st Floor, Block B of the Board’s office between 9:30am and 4pm.
The schools located in New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg and Liaquatabad may collect the admit cards on March 26; those in Keamari, Site, Lyari and Saddar on March 27; and those in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Jamshed Town, Shah Faisal Town, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Bin Qasim, Gadap, Baldia and Orangi Town may collect the same on March 29.—Agencies
