SUKKUR, March 19: Thirty-seven chairmen of board of intermediate & secondary education, technical board and text board throughout the country attended a meeting on Wednesday. This included 28 from intermediate boards, four from technical boards and four of text boards. The meeting was presided over by Chairman, Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Sukkur Dr Mehboob Shaikh.

It discussed matters concerning to examinations and gave suggestion for its improvement.

The meeting decided to reduce the age of candidate appearing for Class-X examinations from to 14 years from 15, effective next year.It further decided that students getting education from religious institutions for Matric Pass Certificate were required to pass English, Urdu, Pakistan Studies, and Math subjects.

Educational institutions using names of their students as Cadet were required to seek approval from the Army Board.

BANDIT HELD: Sukkur police has claimed of arresting dacoit wanted in kidnapping, killing, and robbery cases.

District Police Officer Sukkur Arab Mahar in a press conference in his office on Wednesday told newsmen that the Abad Police Sukkur received information that Abdul Nabi was hiding at the locality of Jhang Mori whom they arrested. He further said the arrested dacoit was wanted in the kidnapping of renowned singer Manzoor Sakhirani. He said cases were registered against Abdul Nabi dacoit at different police stations of Sukkur districts.

He said the Sindh government had announced head money of Rs5 lakh for his arrest.

DPO Sukkur said as per FIR registered by Waheed Abro owner of a car, police conducted raid at the locality of Sidja and recovered the car along with driver Ghulam Ali who was made hostage and fastened with a chain by the accused. The culprits fled from the scene.

DPO Arab Mahar further told that two traffic policemen arrested two dacoits Zohaib and Shakeel who were fleeing after dacoity at Takkar Mohalla on Wednesday.

They recovered from their possession two TT Pistols while one of their accomplices managed to flee. He said the Police Department paid Rs5000 to three police officials for their bravery.
