HYDERABAD, March 23: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil laid the foundation stone of a flyover at Latif chowk on National Highway here on Saturday. The project will be completed by September this year at a cost of Rs290 million.

Speaking on the occasion, the nazim said that work on 1300 development schemes was in progress and many of these projects were nearing completion.

Mr Jamil claimed that the development projects were so comprehensive and encompassing that no new major project would be needed in the district for the next 10 years.

He said an modern expo-centre was being established to promote commercial activities and to introduce local manufacturers in the international market.

He said for the first time, a 5-star hotel was being constructed in Hyderabad and the airport was also being made operational.

He said 10 places in Hyderabad had been identified as major points of traffic congestion which included Latif chowk. He said the junction had been widened at a cost of Rs3 million but the traffic problems still there.

Therefore, a flyover is now being constructed at a cost of Rs290 million at Latif chowk to overcome the traffic mess, he said.Giving details, he said, the flyover will be 1500 feet long and 50 feet wide while the bridge structure will cover 1000 feet with two ramps of 75 feet each.
