‘Clean politics can steer country towards progress’

FAISALABAD, March 23: Pakistan needs a politics of consensus and for this politicians have to bury the hatchet for development and prosperity of the country.
Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Tariq Sayeed said this while addressing Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and Young Entrepreneurs Organisation (YEO) members here on Sunday.
He praised Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari's efforts for consensus with other political forces of the country for prosperity and bright future of Pakistan.
All parties should sit together and evolve a strategy for future as businessmen of the country were facing numerous problems because of uncertain conditions in the country.
Traders wanted a corruption-free system and trade facilities to cope with the challenges of international markets, he added.
Mr Sayeed said Pakistan would enter into a new arena with the formation of new government, restoration of the judiciary and empowerment of parliament.
He asked industrialists to mend their ways to make them on a par with other world businessmen.
He said Saarc was trying to develop business relations with all members of the organisation, because nobody could progress without good relations with neighbour countries.
He also talked about the free movement of the labour and said Pakistani workforce must be allowed to go anywhere in the world like people of other countries.
FCCI President Asim Khursheed and president of YEO Umer Nazar also spoke.
