JACOBABAD, March 29: The town’s sanitary staff observed token hunger strike for an hour here on Saturday in protest against assault on one of their colleagues by a hotel in-charge in the jurisdiction of Airport police station.

The staff staged a demonstration against the high handedness of hotel in-charge after the assault victim complained to chairman of the sanitation committee, Bashir Ahmed Soomro.

She said she was performing her duty in front of the hotel when the in-charge stopped her, exchanged hot words and then brutally beat her up.

The protesters condemned the incident and demanded police arrest the hotel in-charge otherwise they would launch a protest movement and boycott their duty on Sunday.—Correspondent
